I have a new 7D and all was fine at first but now when I connect to my computer it says camera not recognized.

I tried rebooting but that did not help, I changed the usb cord same thing.

I connected my XSI and the computer recognized it.
I formated the card in the 7D and took a couple photos and they show up on the LCD screen so they are on the card but when I connected to the computer it said camera not recognized.

I installed a new card formatted it and took some photos and tried to download to the computer and same thing again.

What should I do next do I have a faulty camera the shutter counter is 32 sure didn't last long.

I would first try to uninstall the 7D software on your computer that came with your camera (You did install it right?) and then re-install that software and see what happens ;)

Install the software for your 7D then go with this link>>> http://www.usa.canon.com …eos_7d#DriversAndSoftware (external link) and update it to the latest, then it should work ok, the best way to load image files :) is to use a card reader, save's your camera battery and less risk of losing any files and of cause it's quicker..;)

There is nothing wrong with your camera..

install the software for your camera to a different computer ( to rule out the Camera) or a fiends computer, if the cam can be seen on the different computer it's a driver issue with your computer.

I can try that but since my computer works with my XSi but not the 7D I don't think it is a driver issue.
