I do use SRaw1 for indoor nightclub/party shots, where most often than not its upper body/head shots, I don't need 21mp for that, but everything else full Raw.

When shooting in low light at high ISO (1600 or greater) I prefer to shooting in sRaw1.. To me, the images just seem that little bit cleaner.. theelectrician wrote in post #11386214 This is what my thinking was. The reduced MP count would help at higher ISOs How would smaller raw files contribute to cleaner images when shooting at high ISO? 7D | 50mm ƒ1.4 | 17-50 ƒ2.8

Art that takes you there. http://www.artyman.co.uk

Dec 03, 2010 04:48 | #22 Always full raw. But I will be using one of the smaller raw formats the next time I shoot a lot of images for a time-lapse video. No point in having those massive files when you're going to be shrinking them down to such a small size. Frank Hollis - Retired mass spectroscopist

That would be quite silly in my opinion. Memory cards are cheap. Skip Douglas

The straight out of camera quality of the 5DII is ample, and for web use, small JPG is fine. 5DII | 300D | 30D IR | 17-40L | 24-105L IS | 70-200/2.8L IS | 100-400L IS | 15 FE | 35L | 50/1.8 mk I | 135L | Sigmalux 50/1.4 | Sigma 105/F2.8 Macro | C/Y Planar 50/1.4 | C/Y Distagon 35/2.8

If a picture is worth taking, why do I want to cripple it with some inferior capture. Besides, I paid for all those pixels Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
