God I miss Whistler... SIGH! I was up there for 4 months last season riding and (mostly) shooting snowboarding / ski photos. I need to make sure I get up there soon. They're having some epic powder right now. Gonna be an awesome season and I'm sure of it :D

Yes they are having some epic powder! I've been up for a week. Leaving tomorrow, but I was able to head up on the Peak Express opening day today!

Here are a few images from today from my LX5. Pics are nothing special, but the view from the peak sure was!: http://www.jessewebbphotography.com …03/last-whistler-ski-day/ (external link)

Thanks everyone for the compliments and yes, most likely was a late night of partying. Folks ski hard and party hard in Whistler it seems! I love that place. Even the drive home today was stunningly beautiful. Several times I wanted to stop for photo opportunities, but I had to get home for a family event.

I highly recommend Whistler for your next ski vacation. Here is a shot from yesterday with my LX5 P&S:

It was cold with freezing fog below, but sunny up on the peak. Here is a shot going up the lift to into the sun with my LX5:

Wow. Really like the photo taken on the chair lift. Good stuff :) Afraid to lug your SLR around... or just didn't wanna deal with the size/weight?

Thanks. I just picked up the LX5 for a coat pocket cam. This trip was all about skiing so I left the DSLR at the condo when up on the mountain this time. I'm considering a trip back for mainly photo with a friend of mine. Whistler is only about 2.5 - 3 hours away from my house depending on traffic and the border wait. Lots of amazing scenery and wildlife up there.
