I went into Boston this morning to do some panos. I checked out the Public Gardens for any possibilities, and found a bunch of ducks and swans. I couldn't help it - I'm a sucker for the feathered ones - so I went back to the car to grab the 70-200 and fooled around for an hour...

Nice. I like the duck. Nice effect in the water with the reflection and the "rings".

Nice, Scott ...

I really like the swan - cool golden background.

Thanks Doutchie and Jay. These shots really were all about the backgrounds. When I saw the golden water i knew that I had to find something to shoot. Luckily the swans were gracious and let me get very close.

Very nice work here and the swan is as close to perfect on exposure as one could hope for, lots of details in the image and the lighting is perfect. The duck needs to be rotated clockwise a few degrees as it's not level and you kind of cut that tail very close here.
