Hi All,

This is my first pic of this type of hawk, shot from my sunroof of my truck (i would of preferred a branch...but I'll take it!). The shot of the loon was taken at the lake on my cottage. Clear signs of mottling....

Thanks for looking!

Marc

I like the first one. It looks like he really didn't want you to take the picture. Were these taken in Ottawa? I was there just last sunday and monday.

Excellent shots!!!! I'm jealous!!! Very sharp. I haven't gotten any loons in semi-breeding plumage and I definitely haven't photo'd any Broad-wings...love that hawk! I can't wait to see some soon.

Cool shots, Marc. With that loon molting photo I guess there's no denying winter is around the corner...Oh well, better enjoy the bird fall migration first!!

Great captures Marc. I really love the loon's red eye. Where you in a boat to get the shot?

Hi Doutchie,

These were taken in Montpellier, QC. , about an hour from Ottawa.

These hawks are woodland hawks so getting a clean shot on natural perches is quite difficult, so when I noticed him on the wire by the forest edge, just coudln't resist! I've seen them in Ottawa but always in or close the forest edges.

Thanks for looking!

Hi Stephen,

Yes, the loon was taken from my boat with my 4yr old daughter begging me to stop taking "stupid" pictures of birds so we can go super fast!!

Thanks for looking!

Marc
