Hello this is my first post and I'm totally new to DSLR (i've had the camera for 3 days). These pics don't really fall into a category but figured i would post here because most of my pics will probably be Macro being that is the only good lens i have now. I just picked this lens this morning, its a Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro mounted on a Canon XS.

Let me know what you guys think and let me know what I can do to improve on these tyes of shots next time.

I was trying to blur the front object on this one

And blur the back object on this one

Playing around with the shutter speed

cool shots. on the first 4 the white balance feels a little yellow. also, if you set up the gun/bullets on a piece of white poster board with some good window light, you can get that high end product photography feel (instead of just cool snapshots).

thxs, didn't realize the white balance till you mentioned it. So being that it is yellow, what does this mean and how do it correct it. I'm assuming too much light and i either need to bump up my f stops or turn down the iso?

Thxs for the welcome.

Was shooting my cousin's b day party last night and was really paying attention to my histogram. Is my goal to keep everything in the middle of the histogram?
