Dang.. I hate it when stuff like this happens. We have a few wood ducks floating around the lake right now so I grab my camera and try and sneak up on them. I set up for a shot, press the shutter and the shutter button seems unresponsive. If focuses quickly, the IS engages but there is a delay when i try and take a pic.

All kinds of things are passing through my head especially the threads where folks had problems with their shutter buttons and gave them a bath in Isopropyl alcohol to get it to work. Well the ducks swam too far to get a decent pic and while walking back to the house i notice I had the two second timer engaged . What an idiot.

Mountain or hill it's all garbage. :) That is one of the new Mount Trashmores. They are in the process of closing the dump. They will put something like 10 feet of soil on yop, plant grass and open it to the public.

And, what is the public expected to do there once it's opened?

It's being turned into a preserve/park. All the normal preserve/part type of activities are supported. Lots of wildlife, hiking, tubing in the winter and such.

This one is a bit unique. They are reclaiming the methane and turning it into power. Right now it generates about 10 megawatts of power. it runs all the preserves power needs and sells back 9 megawatts back to com-ed. From their info-blurbs, enough power is sold back to power 7500 homes or the energy equivalent of 84,000 barrels of oil per year.
