You should tell them you're making your famous mac 'n' cheese. :)

That will work on several of them....we have to make a batch every visit.

So, fill me in on something, iPhone users -- I hear that the 4G service is not so good -- you have to be at a wi-fi hot spot hot spot to connect -- is that true? And, for the iPad do you tether that to an iPhone or does it have built-in wi-fi or what?

iPhone/any AT&T device does not currently have 4G in any form. A lot of people seem to think it does, not sure why. The iPhone 4 is a standard 3G device.

Side note: T-Mobile doesn't have an actual 4G network either. They're just advertising overdriven HSPA as 4G. ;)

Also Mike, Edna has an iPad as well and is playing scrabble a ton lately. Is that one on the game center? Should do an RRTP scrabble game.

I'm planning on baking some of Dan's recipe up tomorrow. I've had it bookmarked for the past year, hah. I would have done it today but everything's closed. :(

This one is a separate one she found. It's called Words With Friends. It is free, but has ads in it. We're wondering if we pay for the app if the ads go away.

Back home after all the family visits and I'm whooped! Playing scrabble on the wife's iPad right now, she loves it!

I'm jealous! LOL Ok I shouldn't be... My boys each got netbooks! And my folks surprised me with one as well! SO I am NOT complaining! I LOVE it! It's SOOOOOOOO awesome!

BTW, it's snowing here!!! We missed a white Christmas by about 24 hours. Hopefully we will have a few inches on the ground come morning! :D

Nice! I was just coming in to RRTP to see if you had posted... I knew it was snowing in Concord...they've got an inch + on the ground there.... roads are beginning to turn white....

jdizzle wrote in post #11514130 (external link)
Yes. We are getting snow. I hope to not get snowed in at work. :)

I hope you don't get snowed in at work too!

Woolburr wrote in post #11514137 (external link)
We got between 8-9 inches of snow....it is still spitting and sputtering, but nothing so serious. My sister was supposed to leave Fayetteville for NY....but she is doing some serious rethinking of that plan. We talked to some friends in Richmond....they said they had freezing rain and now it was turning over to snow....the roads are a real mess.

Bizarrely enough, family in NY reports no snow on the ground....have bummed grandkids and nieces and nephews that got sleds, toboggans and such....with no place to ride them. I invited them all to come visit. Now I have a very cranky brother, son and daughter that fail to see the humor in my suggestion. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh....what Grinches.

We've got 6+ in town.... I'm at mom & dad's for the night... I didn't bring the sleds... because we decided to bring the pup at the last minute so me & dad, 2 kids, and a dog in his truck... our overnight bags rode through the snow in the bed of the truck!

My kids were semi-sad that they didn't get to go to their dad's for Christmas... but he worked until 3pm and I imagine that he's still there given the weather... BUT I was totally cool with it... I got to have my kids ALLLLLL day for the first time 3 years!!!

Nope, standard run of the mill 3G device. LTE and WiMax are separate radios, and nobody knows what AT&T is planning on rolling out. Makes no sense to have a GSM, HSPA, LTE, WiMax, 802.11, and Bluetooth radio in the device when you don't even know if the LTE and WiMax ones will be used, or which will be used.

There is that nomenclature failure in that all of the Apple products tend to get labeled nG, so the iPhone 4 gets called 4G cause it's the 4th generation iPhone, but on that same note, the 3G would be the 2G and the 3Gs would be the 3G in that naming standard.

Well, this place looks familiar. Bought my dad a P&S for Christmas and it reminded me to come back on POTN. It's been too long.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.

Good morning folks. Hope all had a great holiday. I'm digging out yet again. We got another 4~6 inches last night on top of the 3~4 we got xmas eve on top of the 10~12 we got on the ground. It's getting deep out there.

We got about 5 inches through the night. Been snowing all day, but it just seems to be replacing what is melting so no new accumulation.

Had to go to the store this morning. We were out of milk and bread. Usually the day after Christmas is a bad day to go anywhere, but since it snowed, it was PERFECT!!! Target was pretty quiet. Made shopping that much easier. Came home and played with the kids in the snow, now the little one is taking a nap while big sis plays her new Wii game.

He said apple plays a joke on everyone pretending to be more than it actually is and most apple folks don't know any better. :):)
