Hey all,

I decided to head out for a bit to shoot some Christmas lights down town. Here are the results. The building in all of these is the Tehachapi Train Depot Museum. I'll shoot another location tomorrow night. This is my first attempt at Christmas lights and night photography in general. Any pointers?

I don't want to sound like a broken record...posted this in another thread as well...but since no one responded...and because this worked for me...I'll post again:

I don't know where you are geographically; but I started getting good shots at about 5:00pm on a clear day in the central time zone in the US.

That's exactly what I needed. Thank you! :)

I live in Southern CA. I live in a small valley with mountains on all sides. I think that ideal light this page is talking about is more around 4:30 for us, since once the sun slides below the mountains, it starts getting dark here before it does in the desert below us. I'll try shooting around then and see what I get. Thanks!
