There's a large 626 car meet of the year is tonight and I wanna take some pictures. It's just an average parking lot IIRC. A lot of space and a lamp here and there, so the lighting isn't very nice. Does anyone have any advice on how I should tackle this? The only flash I got is a non-adjustable Sunpak auto 433AF.

Are you trying to do a group shot of the 626 cars? Or individual car shots

A lot of space...

...& they'll probably park close together. Get there early & shoot while the light holds. Take a tripod. It will tell people to stay out of your way. ;) This shot was in a parking lot in the evening as were most of the shots in the "Tips" thread below.

And just because it's dark, doesn't mean that you don't have enough light to shoot. The only flash in these was a red one for the tail lights.

^ and ^^, it sounds like a Mazda 626 meet with an uncertain number of attending cars, just FYI. ;)

Nahh, it was a pretty big 626 meet. I know Mazda does meet there every weekend and I tagged along with my rotaryhead friend before. But it was pretty nice. Filled up the whole parking lot with JDM basically.

Lots are hard. I like to go around to the back end of the cars so you don't have to worry about the hoods being open
