I wouldn't worry too much about this thread being drawn out. It gives everyone something to think about, both sides of an argument, and we all learn something from it. Time well spent, IMO.

I don't do "nightclub photography" and don't have any understanding of the market. Who, exactly, is the market?

If the market is the patronage of the club, then it seems to me that that a photographer would never want a to show a "compromising" image in his portfolio--that "market" would not be served by a photographer who was as likely to harm them as not.

If the market is editorial, then perhaps anything would go...but clearly to me, the same portfolio can't be used in both markets, and a Facebook portfolio is to the patron market, not to the editorial market.

The market for me is the club owners, national and local magazines, and nightlife websites that print pictures of hotties and club events. Every nightclub website I know takes down photos on request. I'm not sure why the OP was taking pictures.

Okay. I couldn't really see how any market except the strictly editorial would be served by antagonizing people.

This thread and picture should both be burned.

What's wrong with the thread?

I disagree.

The actual picture is unnecessary. The discussion is about whether to display a picture that someone doesn't want online and has requested to be taken down, to avoid embarrasment.

Given the circumstances, I don't see why the picture should get further publication and display, just to satisfy your desire to see it.

I was mostly being facetious, but had a curiosity of it.

Here ya go. While it's not the photo in question, it is one of two girls kissing that I shot this past Saturday at the same place, and I know both of these girls personally, so they won't care if it's posted
