I went out into the thick fog with my camera tonight. These were two of my favorites and I'd like to hear what you think of them:

I love the atmosphere in the first one! Makes me which a scene from a movie would play out there as I'm looking at the photo. What was your ƒ-stop, shutter speed & ISO?

Both at 30mm and ISO 800. First at f1.4, 1/60. Second at f3.5 and 1/125

Thanks for the comment.

The first one tells a nice story, a familiar story to the human experience. I like the vertical subject and the different light sources at each level. Nice mix of color temperatures in the light source which adds to the subtle color palette. Had the bulbs all had the same color temperature the visual separation would have suffered slightly.

I am less enamored with the second and mostly because the light source obliterates my senses.

I liked how the light was falling off through the fog and back lighting the branches on the second one, but I guess that one might not have universal appeal. It kinda felt like I was shooting a sunset into the sun.

I am glad people are liking the first one. I really liked how the light and shapes worked out on that one, but I was worried the subject matter might be boring.

First one needs straightened up, but has a nice atmosphere.

Second one doesn't do anything for me.

I've gone back and looked at that first one a half dozen times. I really like it - the light play around the stairs is terrific. The light behind the scene plays wonderfully on the whole image. Nice clarity too, even in the fog.

The first one is like a scene from 'The Exorcist' or something - love it!

I would crop the first one at the bottom of the second flight of stairs.
