I'm beginning to see why there are so many hand / neck / shoulder straps out there ... so hard to choose from. Is there anything out there that allows one to:

a) carry a plain 7D + 70-200 IS or 7d + other lenses by tripod mount that
b) can quickly be mounted to monopod via quick release plate
c) that can also accommodate a hand strap on the right.
d) does not hang from neck
e) has some kind of swivel mount so it does not tangle (minor issue).

I sort of like the Luma Loop v1 (no pod mount). It currently hangs from the upper right strap hole. QR plate is mounted. Problem is a cannot put on the big zoom lens without it dipping way down. It fulfills b, d.

Black Rapid R strap allows a, d, (e is less of an issue compared to Luma loop).

I saw the C-loop. It fulfills a, c, e but not b.

I'm almost tempted to machine / modify my own QR plate and attach a Luma loop v2 lanyard on it. Use as is for hand held shooting. Release the lanyard and attach to monopod/tripod for shots (I found out that keeping loop on + using monopod was a bit awkward). This also allows for use of hand strap ...

Wait a min ... I need a second QR plate and lanyard to have a place to attach the bottom of the hand strap ... argh.

Can anyone help? Or does anyone just remove the mount and reattach the QR plate every single time it is needed?

R-strap and a compatible QR clamp.

Screw the FastenR-3 into the bottom of the QR clamp, attach a QR plate to the tripod mount, connect the clamp to the plate.

Have a matching QR clamp on the monopod head, which allows you transfer easily across.
This setup leaves the normal camera strap lugs for the hand strap.

Here is my SLIK DQ-S version, the same QR clamp is on the BR strap as is on the monopod and tripod ball heads. So you can attach the R-Strap anywhere you have the QR plate.

Hey! That's it! ... D'oh. I just sold my R-strap ... grumble, grumble. Does this work only with the Slik brand or can it be used with my Benro B-0 head?
Hold a bit. Does the side loop of the plate attach to the top or bottom plate? If it is the bottom plate, then it can't be used with the handstrap.

Not sure what QR plate your benro has, I pretty sure there would be a compatible QR clamp available.

There are a lot of Arca swiss compatible plates that have a strap lug on the plate to allow a hand strap to be attached.

I use a battery grip so my hand strap is connected to the battery grip strap lug, then it's independent of the QR plate.

or you could use Optech Utility loops, that way the R-strap is always connected to you camera when using some form of support.

Try this: http://www.camdapter.com/chart.html (external link)

I have been looking at hand straps as well & it seems that Camdapter now makes all kinds plates so you don't have to have a battery grip
