Here are some shots I got last night in the rain. Any comments or opinions would be cool

With the first shot, I am not sure which is supposed to be the subject as you have two objects in there - the light and the paints both fighting for attention. I would be inclined to crop the traffic light out if you can and focus on the paints, which are great:)
With the second shot...except that it needs its horizon straightened slightly, I love it!! Very strong dynamic image with the lines forcing you to the horizon:)

Not really too sure what you mean by "the paints" here. But I might agree with you on it - let me try this:

The traffic lights on top are really cool! I like how you were able to get all 3 lights lit. I may have to try this myself!

The bottom (it is a walk/dont walk light) because of the time taken to get all 3 lights on top lit in the same image - this part suffers. I would lose it. If you measure the distance from the top of the red light to the top of the frame, then measure that same distance from the bottom of the 'surround' down and draw an imaginary like horozontally that would be my crop line.

My 1st impression was paint pots too! Crop out and this would have been great for a guess the picture comp!

The traffic light looks great - It might be worth cheating a little with the "cyan" making it greener (green lights are green in CA aren't they?).

The first is my favourite but would concur that the focus would be better concentrated with the lamps only in the frame.

Having all 3 lights on is somewhat strange

for #1 I would likely crop under the signal lights or under the walk light. It's an interesting perspective.
