Mommy had given him a warm bath and fed him minutes before I arrived. We jacked up the temperature to about 80 and shot him on the kitchen table and chair using window light and some flash. After 3 newborns this weekend, I can honestly say that I feel totally comfortable to be able to get my 20 favourite shots. I really need to work on the posing on the hands shot....maybe next newborn!     Canon 5DII, Canon 1D Mark II N

Sit the baby in their hands, position and shoot. Try natural light first with some added flash if needed. A little post process work in Aperture 3 and maybe some PS. Canon 5DII, Canon 1D Mark II N

I see that Dad is a St. FX alumnus? My fav school! I would have preferred to see the dangling hand tucked under the chin, but sometimes the baby isn't settled enough to force that.
