Took the kids to the zoo, had to take a few pics, too.

A good portrait should have been verticle I think though. Nice water effect and some flash I think could have made the birds blacks show better and balance the lighting some here, Not sure they would allow flash though.

Very nice portrait.
Here is another photo of Humboldt Penguin, however not as good as yours

That was shot at the long end of the 70-200; the rest of the bird was obscured by a pipe/grate thing. I just shot his head with the water effects.

This pic is from the same enclosure, different direction, different bird.
