Hey folks,
I just came back from China and made some Panoramic Picturesets. This Sets are in cr2-file format so I need to stitch and and edit them.

It is such a huge work to edit each single picture in photomatix and than stitch it to one panoramic picture.

Is there a better and smarter way to do so?

Greets winam!

In what app are you going to perform the stitch?

I tried this once, note the key word "once".
Photomerge smudges pixels around during the process and never the same way twice which makes the layered HDR conversion process virtually impossible...they won't match up.

So ya say okay, let"s do the HDR part first...how do ya make sure every group was processed exactly the same way...create an action of course. Can ya do that?
In my case, using CS4 at the time, photoshop wasn't able to balance the colors during the photomerge process to my satisfaction...they didn't match up.

Lastly, can your computer handle the processing power necessary to preform these labor intensive tasks? My old 4 GB RAM machine wasn't close to have sufficient power, kept getting "out of memory" messages.

Ya might want to reevaluate your desires or...give it a try and let us know how it turns out. ;)

Peter, I gather you merged them as 16 bit tiffs, or 8 bit?

Photomatix has a batch option which makes this a breeze. Process one of your frames that way you like it in photomatix then batch the rest with the same settings, then stitch the results together with CS4 or 5.

here is one I did recent from Yosemite.

Those are both amazing! Out of curiosity, which lens did you use for these shots? I've been playing around with stitching more and more; very fun to play around with...

Both were taken with a 24-70L in portrait orientation. I think they are also both 5 shots but I could be wring
