Not quite but I am pleased with the results. I was attempting to be crafty instead of pulling out the softboxes/beauty dish/PLM studio strobe etc....

5dmk2, 85L, 430exii w/ joe demb flipit bounced over left shoulder and x-rite colour management. Extremely happy with the results.

I think you could have pulled that shot off with just the 430 exII cranked up to light up the room.

I see color fringing in her eyes!!

Naaaaah its called purple fringing (reflection from the diffuser on the demb flipit) from an 85L at f/1.2 ;) I bet your 85 sigma would do the same at f/1.4 wideopen.

I already put these photos in print and can barely see any "purple" in my daughters eyes unless you really look for it. I bounced my flash and at f/1.2 I really dont need much cranking :)
