Hi

I am looking for editing software for my mac using my 1000D camera.

I have Aperture 3 on trial and like it; I am a newb currently and wanted to know if I should stick with Aperture 3 or use Photoshop?

Thanks

Totally up to you with how your workflow is like.
If you're only making adjustments to your images in the current state they're in and not major pixel pushing like making people thin and textures and such Aperture is fine but anything beyond that Photoshop obviously is necessary.
If you can only afford one get Photoshop then you have it and for RAW editing Camera Raw has pretty much the same as the Aperture adjustments panel controls these days.

They are different apps. Photoshop is principally a bit-map image editing package and Aperture (and Lightroom) are raw editors and digital asset managers (DAM). Since getting Aperture, my Photoshop time has declined substantially, such that I rarely use it anymore.

You should consider the one-two punch: Aperture and Pixelmator. Pixelmator is a bit-map editor that is much faster than Photoshop, but not as flexible in terms of plug-ins and it does not have 16-bit file saving (a non-issue for most final images).

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
