OK, just got the call from a family that I am doing their pictures this Saturday. This is outside, in the snow, outside an old wooden cabin. There is a catch, she just called to tell me that she was expecting. Wants me to give a hidden message in a couple of the pictures for their parents and siblings. Any ideas on how to do this? I am puzzled .. leaves me only 3 days to think.

Are they looking for subtle hints or obvious ones?

A little bit of both. I thought about blocks, have the mom kind of "cradle" the word baby in one of the family portraits. She wants me to somehow "photoshop" a stork in the background somehow. Where would I find a stork? She wants a few different pictures with the hints.

Okay well the two ideas that came to my mind were to set them up in whatever pose you would normally do and then place a pair baby booties where you might place that child (either on their lap or on the ground next to them). The other thing was to do some maternity like shots only with out the bump LOL!!! Say.... them facing each other with his hands at her waist with both of them looking down at what will become a bump very soon. Would make a nice before after shot if you do any maternity pics for them. I like the block cradling idea too. Not sure about the stork thing . Maybe just pick one up at the party supply store rather than photoshoping in and placing it off to the edge of frame somewhere. Can't wait to see what you come up with!!! Be sure to post.

Having the youngest brother/sister wear a "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" shirt in a shot? I think I've seen these at Kohls (carters brand) and gymboree. . .

What about being a bit more subtle? Do family pics as you would normally, and then photoshop a calendar page with her due date circled in red and insert it into the lower right hand corner of the shot. Anyone looking at the shot will think ?????, that's random, and will start trying to think of why that was done.... a prize to anyone who guesses the reason....
