Up on a parking garage on a great cloudy day. Used a Quadra inside a softlighter for these, which was quite the challenge in the wind.

most of the "look" comes from that big softlighter. It just gives a magical quality. I did use multiple RAW conversion to bring out the sky and some of the buildings. This time I shot with the direction of the sun (what little there was) which also helped the background. Tough to lighten up the background when you are shooting into the sun with a strobe.

DODGE and BURN..

wow.. just learned how to do it last night.. OMG it makes such a difference..

just shows you how much photography now is about a good file and good post work

layers

1 50 percent grey blend mode to overlay to darken (use burn tool)
2 50 percent grey blend mode to softlight to lighten (use dodge tool)
3 average color cast inverted to correct white balance
4 overlay high pass @ 2 pix to bring back the edges
5 original with shoulder tan lines corrected
6 original with skin blemished corrected

lighting was elinchrom Quadra camera left about 4 feet @ 1.3 power with deep octa (39 inches)

Thanks, the softlighter seems to be a quite interesting piece of equipment. Sadly it costs way too much over here in Europe. :/
