Oh, can I play!!! I will give it a go when I get off work! I know you have your edit ok thing on, but I will only post if you say it is ok (that is if I can do one I like).

post it.. i don't mind at all. it is a learning thing for me.. we are all in this together and it is like a professional code and understanding..

i take it as you are willing to show me and teach me fundmentals, new ideas, etc.. so go for it.. (to anybody) that is why the edit is on.. (others have personal reasons and i respect that too.. )

Pham it's your great willingness to help others, share how you set up every shot and now letting (by permission) someone show all of us an edited idea that makes you such an admired photographer! I believe thats why ALL of us are here, if not then, what?

I too could easily see the candle wasn't lite during the shot and it pulled my eye to it which was a shame because it's a killer shot!

Pham my thinking is if you wanted the candlelit for the shot, wouldn't it have been easier to simply lit it up during the shot? Of course there might be lots of reason why you couldn't light it during the shot (or it was simply forgot).

Anyway, I'm still a fan of your work and keep up the good job you,re doing with Ryan.

simple answer is this: SPEED of a Wedding Day...

if you have done weddings then you understand
if you have not done weddings then you should try a couple and then you will understand..

I would like to thank everyone for the PMs about the photo and kind comments i received. And for the individuals that sent me their fixed version of the image! I have discussed or will be replying to your PMs about your fix. Thank you!

Aren't forums wonderful! Amazing bridal shot Ryan - the lighting is killer. You made her the center of that picture and she just looks beautiful. I'm glad she is pleased :)

Hopefully my future wife will let me fly out to where you are to get our engagement photo's done by you and Pham - then I will love her forever. :)

Keep it up Ryan and Pham! You both are such a great inspiration to me.

Nathan, better yet, make Ryan and Pham fly in to your place! If you pay well, I'm sure they'll do! :p

They are indeed both really great wedding photographer :D

Hah thanks for such kind comments. That would be really fun! I'd be for it

Distortion - wow, so much fuss about such a small issue.

There's a plugin in Photoshop under "Filters' that can help you to easily fix lens barrel distortion. It takes 1 minute if you feel that you can't live with it. Good photos (for a wedding lol)

lol

Just playing around with my new light gear. This is a single 580 through an umbrella "soft box". I put another in the Multi thread.

One day, I'll understand ;)

the speed of the wedding day gives you little time. it seems no matter how well you plan the day with the bride, the time just isn't there. so many delays, greetings by unexpected guests, etc..

so on this one it was littertly taken in less than 4-5 mins..

i walked from the back part of the church going thru my phone for prepped ideas and as we made it to the front part of the church we decided to do the window shot..then asked ryan to boom the light..

and in 3 takes we had this shot all under 5 mins tops.. then we went into another shot which was ryan's lead..

back and forth we go for the 20 mins we had...

so in hind sight i wish i had the candle lighted but my exprience says just get the shot with what you have time for and i couldn't hog the time because ryan and i had a game plan that we needed to on track..

live and learn.. but i probably wont be adding a lighter to my kit any time soon.. lol..
