why the high shutter speed? Doesent that reduce the output power of the flash? The most important piece of gear you own, resides in your head and its called your brain.

I use a TT5 system, and i notice decreased output when in hypersync... still good results; at times I have to move the umbrella closer to the subject when moving past the FP barrier. (Outdoors, at least.) Are you just using the FLEX TT5 or do you have the Mini TT1 with the flex? -David T.

Using a flash and shooting a shutter speed at or below your camera's sync speed has no impact on the flash exposure part of your image. However, shooting at a shutter speed faster than your camera's sync speed puts the flash into HSS (high speed sync) and does affect the flash exposure part of an image. The faster the shutter speed above your camera's sync speed the less flash exposure you will get on your image (for any particular level of flash output). If your flash has enough power to compensate for the faster shutter speeds, you won't see a difference on the flash exposure part of your image. If it doesn't have enough power then the flash exposure part of your image will be underexposed.
