Here's one from a North Shore Minnesota engagement session:

IMAGE: http://www.scottbolster.com/potn/hg_1007.jpg

Lighting was a single bare AB 1600, held on a monopod by an assistant on the rocks. I took another photo after my assistant moved so I was able to remove her from the final image.

I like this one the best, no shadow conflict under the truck.

I like the concept and framing here, but there's a clear compositing error present around the couple. When you masked them back in (or out of the non-flash frame), you didn't feather the mask. I can clearly see transition lines near his back and around their heads.

Clean this up, and it's an awesome image.

My work monitor must be terrible because I just spent a few minutes looking for this and cant see it. I even used the digital magnifying glass!

Excellent shot capturing both the action, and some of the perils below. :)
I have to ask, how was the landing? ;)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

It is possible that what I am seeing is artifacts from compression, but they are large if that's what they are. I might be wrong, but that's what I see on my end.

Nope, that's not where the mask is. My assistant was just a little left of center, 1/3 from the bottom of the frame. The image is all original except for a few rocks in that area. No mask around the couple.

There are less artifacts in your latest image than there were in the previous - that's what I was seeing.

Disregard my previous!

The whole time we were shooting I kept saying you dont have to land it since that's the beauty in photography haha. Funny thing is he actually landed it on that shot. It was the cherry on top

Fantastic shots, can you tell me what the setup was in terms of flash placement and also the lens used?

Many thanks

Used a Elinchrom Quadra Ranger RX on channel B set under 2.0 boomed over head using a Maxilite / Fireball. I used the EF-S 18-200 mm lens, I love the noise it produces over my primes or my L's. I'm also lazy and I can go from 18 to 200 with out even moving.
