Almost finished with this set, and my hair/rim light stopped firing. I feel a little silly that I didn't notice... I was in a rush and paying more attention to the models and the main light.

Elinchrom D-Lite 2 it on a tall stand, with basic 7" reflector to emulate a stage spotlight.

Well actually that ^^ was yesterday. Today I shot for a story on indoor plants and annoyed my intern to be my test model for a big feature shoot tomorrow.

That skin smoothing is overdone. Looks like plastic, and there's a line on her chin in the "after" that wasn't there before.

Compared to the before, there's more detail in the skin. And where is the line you see? Just curious because I spent so much time trying to fix everything haha.

These images crop it out. If you went straight down from (her) left corner of her mouth to the chin, it directs straight back towards her ear.

It might just be the amount of retouching done to such a casual image. Seems out of place. There's a "painted" feel that betrays the rest of the photo.

I understand what you mean. It was just a casual test shot that I went crazy on haha

One of our external single strobe photos made the cover of a local newspapers wedding section!
