Just starting up again! Yes, I know. I have been away far too long but life has priorities. ;)

This is a combine of 100x7sec, 120x30sec and 60x60sec exposures at ISO 800. The 30 and 60 second had 10 darks each. The 7 second had no darks.

I know it still needs better color balance as well as other techniques that I need to remember. LOL!

It looks great converted to b/w. It has that eerie look that you get through the eyepiece.
With that much data, I'm sure you're going to get a stunning image out of it. Very nice.

G'day, That is a wonderful capture, as I was saying to Baz, I would like to join the ranks of the stargazers, so I need to find out what all this gear and settings mean, Fantastic photo well done.

Very nice but it's too purple and a bit flat. I'm not an expert at processing but i had a go at it and gave it a bit of contrast and removed alot of the purple...

Hey Mark, great to see you here again. You grabbed a lot of good stuff here, I'm looking forward to seeing the final image.

I did a 5 minute edit to bring the color balance closer and raised the black point, hope you don't mind. Tons of fine detail in there.

Hey thanks guys! Yeah. My processing skills are rusty. I like what you did to it though.

Except for the distraction spikes on the one star Ed. What's up with that? I use a refractor to avoid distraction spikes! LOL!

Oh lol. Not sure why i tossed it in, just foolin' around cuz i was bored. It's still a bit purple though and as nighthound said, you have a great image there and with the right kind of processing (not by me cuz i'm just practicing and learning) it would be even greater. Good job...
