THis looks like a scan, but its not.right?

Its OOF on the lower face area. The exposure is off as well..not enough contrast.

She's a cutie, but this photo isn't doing her justice..if you post your settings we can see how it came about

It does look like a scan. There are hazey vertical lines running through the entire photo. Not sure what else would be causing it. I like the subject and the expression but it seems to me that the light color of the eyes would make for a great color shot.

is white balance off? looks kinda blue

It is blue, and I put a texture over it. I was curious if it just looked bad lol I guess it does look bad I took it at at ISO 800 and too low of a shutter speed. It was really noisy and I was hoping to save it, but it seems I can't lol I need a better lens for low light

A bad photo is just a bad photo and there's just not much you can do to save it.

Cute child. Generally I like the kids in color. Getting a good B&W takes an exceptional image IMO.

The image itself has issues. Is this a scan? And if so, of what? It almost looks like a scan of an ink jet print.

If it's not a scan, what camera and lens was used?

And we cross posted - to put it on a more positive note - Yes, it does look bad.

The scan look I think, is because of the noise from the high ISO. Again, I appreciate the criticism.

It's taken with my T1i at ISO 800 with the it lens 18-55 at 18 f/2.8. I had to crop it. My lens is crap in low light. I am never pleased with the photos. I'm hoping for the 50mm 1.8 for Christmas.

I like it. My eyes are not led off the image, it captures me. Too me that is successful.

Yeah, looks like a scan and I think it would be better without that effect.

If you shot at iso800 you should be able to PP noise reduction that and should be fine. I use Lightroom for my noise reduction. Simple to use, easy.

Google about if you arent sure with the program you use.

I also agree with the contrast comment and looking slightly blue (but I'm not saying thats bad).

Really like the composition and the capture. Not distracting or anything. The photo leads you straight to the eyes and holds you.
