Took this shot of a moth but could quite get around him to take a front shot. In the end I sort of like this shot as he/she seems to 'look to the skies'. I was focusing on the head, so unfortunately his/her body is OOF. I have yet to master focus stacking. :-)

Not quite happy with the PP - it was underexposed by at least 2 stops initially.
Would like to get some feedback if its worth fixing and how

I agree that the focus is a little inconsistent but it is still an interesting shot. I think the underexposure caused a bit of an unnatural "yellowing" of the moth itself, unless it was actually that color. I also think just a bit more of a profile shot would have been more dramatic by showing the probiscus more.

The moth pretty much that color Unfortunaely, as soon as I tried to move more around o get that profile shot, the bush shuddered and the moth 'took to the skies'

The frustrations of macro :p

Well, it's not a moth, it's a butterfly; a Skipper to be exact.

But ... I think it's a great image. The eyes of these guys are fascinating, and you have them well in focus. I like the DOF and the background that grades from green to blue, and the pose of the insect as if he is ready to launch. Great job on a difficult subject!
