IMAGE NOT FOUND
Byte size: ZERO | Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE

I want to capture the disappointment which my little brother was experiencing when he is unable to get his kite up.

Do give pointers and/or tips! I'm still learning!

And yeah i originally wanted to crop of the guy in grey at the right side and maybe crop off a bit of the sky too but i can't find the original image thus i can't edit it...If i edit it through this image which is actually hosted on fb than the quality will dropped greatly so in the end i didn't. Sorry about it and thanks!

A few thoughts. If you want to show disappointment, his face needs to be more prominent. Especially at the size posted whatever emotion he has one his face is somewhat open to speculation unless you know him well. ( It could just as well show concentration. )

Lose the tilt. It doesnt add anything to this shot and its a cheap way of trying to generate interest. It works on occasion, but not often. It looks a tiny bit underexposed, but that could be tweaked in post.

Pick a day with more wind - or run faster.....

Or did you mean on the image?

I agree, his face should be more visible. Bring it up a bit with a spotlight in photoshop or if you have CS5 you could do it with an adjustment brush in ACR. And 99.999% of the tilts I see just don't appeal to me. This is not an exception.

Couldn't tell he was dissapointed unless I read your post. If I just saw the picture alone I would assume he was getting ready to fly it. No amount of PP will fix this, unfortunately. You need to actually capture the dissapointment (eyes and face) to tell the story. +1 on the comments about the tilt. No reason to tilt a photo trying to show dissapointment. It's like filming 'The Notebook' with a handheld on a pogo stick. Doesn't make any sense.

Any photos of family are potential keepers though if you ask me :)

Thanks guys for the feedback!
The reason why the picture was tilted because i can't let him know i was photographing him that's why i was holding my camera at the side and trying to frame him properly without even looking through the viewfinder so it was a hit and miss.

Out of all the pictures i took like this, this is actually one of the best. Others would be either some part of his body cut off if not is can't even see him at all. ~_~
