P&S with video help, please

OK here is the situation. My 13yr old daughter wants a camera that she can use that will also capture video. Being that she is a 13yr old, I don't really want to spend a fortune on a camera that she would/could lose. I would like to keep it in the sub $150 range if at all possible.

Are there any recommendations as to what would be a good camera for her. I have seen some of the, and please forgive me, Nikon Coolpix out there or Sony CyberShots. What about this one? I ahve heard good things about the Panasonics and this one records in HD.

My 2 girls close to the same age want a go at a camera. I'm gonna try the kodak camera m590. I haven't seen them in action but I have ordered them from B&H video. The price was 129 with no tax and free shipping. Still need a memory card and something nice to carry them in.I have the kodak playsport. The video is amazing.
