Safe to buy?

Hello fellow photography freaks,

Is it safe to buy a second hand 1DMKIII, we know the history of it, with that faulty AF system....
Some tips?

make a deal with the owner. You send the camera to Cannon for cleaning, testing repairing. He pays the cost....or you pay for the cleaning and testing part and he pais for any repairs.

Over here at least, Canon will still fix them even if you aren't the first owner.

I recently bought a 1D Mk III in the affected range, used it for a month or so then sent it off to a repair centre where they replaced the entire mirror box at no cost to me.

The serial is outside the serial number range, so those cams dont have that fault?
