Has anyone had any trouble with compatibility issues with the 1d m4 raw files and cs3?

You'll have to use either DPP or use Adobe's free DNG converter as CS3 will not support the 1DMkIV's RAW files.

That happened to me when I bought an XSi a few years ago, look around adobe's website for a camera raw update.

One year old camera, three + years old software.

Every model has its own version of CR2, that's why RAW converters are constantly being updated.

The last update for CS3 was ACR4.6 which does not support the 1DMkIV. Support for it came with ACR5.6 which you need CS4. If OP has LR then he needs to update to v2.6.

Options are upgrade Photoshop, get LR, use DPP, or use the converter.

Toothtango, did you "get" the advice given here? Anything you don't understand?
