I think it would be a great idea if we could see a thumbnail of a thread without having to open it to view. It would get more people to click on a thread.
Was this considered at all?

Many many years ago, I actually made a hack for the forum software phpbb that did just what you are asking for  Ok fair enough, I didn't realise. I know vBulletin version 3.8.4 has that capability.
