I am a new photographer of 4 months and love every day shooting and learning. Art and technology, who could ask for more.

Anyways, this is one of my recent shots and i would love to know what i should do better with the photo through all means (photoshop,crop,lighting,etc...)

i would also like to add i just got cs5 and lr3 and would love to know how they can enhance these photos.

If a picture's meant to communicate a concept (of course arguable) - what would be the concept here? We have a rather strange door into what might be a storage area, switch box or something? A strange glove - perhaps a sporting accessory but I've no idea what sport. And a backward glance ambiguous across furtive, anticipatory, purposeful. So, I personally can find nothing coherent in the subject matter or presentation. Otherwise - a harsh reflection near the left eye - which is a natural focus of attention for viewers, but thankfully not obfuscating the eye much. A couple things crossing the frame (including the A on the hat), leading the eye out.

All up, I just find it frustrating - but maybe that's just me.

the glove is actually a wrist brace due to a sports related injury.

is there any way for me to remove the reflection on the lens?

the door is into an old unused safe (it was used in the 18th century). i wanted to convey a mischievous act of conduct in which the subject looks back suspiciously one last time as he begins to breach the safe.

Well, some of the elements are working then - just a bit jumbled. Maybe try again when the sports brace can come off, and add some kind of lock picking / breakin instrument - maybe holding it in or near the lock...? For the reflection - what you can reasonably do depends on your software. In many packages there is a brush that you can select a source area that's similar to the way you want your problem area to be, then brush over the problem area to have it "bring across" some of the good area, trying different levels of opacity to avoid having the repair work look to obvious.
