On my monitor the shadow side of the face and shoulder have a slight magenta cast to them, almost the color of a bruise. The shadow could be a little more neutral in tone. Thanks K for letting us outsiders make some noise in your world! amber j2010 wrote in post #11459135 Enjoying the thread. I took a b&w film course in college, majored in painting, and have been using a dslr for a little over a year. My photoshop skills are sketchy. I enjoy photographing people. I like the expression on this little man. Hosted photo: posted by amber j2010 in ./showthread.php?p=11459135&i=i266744743 forum: Critique Corner

hahah ))) it's great that you are seeing the streamlined perspective and textures and also it's awesome that you are training your eye to do so but capturing stuff like this. I consider this image an exercise and sketch, rather then a polished shot. Apply what you have learned to something more visually exciting. I am thinking that you are on the right track. Thats how John is most of the time. Disconnected from what is around him when he believes no one is noticing. I have one of him facing me after that. Maybe i can dig it up and give another look. Sometimes its difficult to know when to have an image with the subject looking at you and when to have them looking away. However, practice, practice, and some practice -Omar- Flickr

Lovely shot, great model. What a look. My only nit pic is white dress - white wall. You are losing the defining line separating the 2 white elements. Actually monitor angle plays a big effect here. It's much better when looking at it eye level. Other than that I'd love to see a whole series done in this style and set. johendley wrote in post #11465525 I'll ABSOLUTELY take my shots from you- completely respect your opinion...shoot me down, but please keep it constructive... photography about 2 years this December, but only in that ocd way...always took pics before.....a recent shoot ![]()
