We had a very cold, but insanely colorful sunrise the other day. The sky changed to every possible color between pre-dawn and sunrise, it was well worth getting up early. It is a shame I couldn't get outside the walls of our base for some better compositions with the trees in the foreground, but I did what I could.

same scene done via Nik but not HDRefx. It would look much like the one above but I deliberately left the micro-contrast down for a softer feel.

I made an HDR of this one, but it just never looked right, I liked the single exposure solution in the end.

All shot with Canon 5DmkII, 17-40L, 70-200f4LIS, and 300 f4L IS. Singh-Ray 2-Stop soft, or 3-Stop Reverse used on all of them except the last one, since grad filters don't seem to like being used on a 300mm lens.
Thanks for looking!
