Waxwings are extremely rare in the UK and only visit when the weather is particularly cold, so I am told. A guy from work said he has seen some about half a mile from my house so he took me over but none were about. On Saturday I got a phone call telling me there were 30 in a tree over the road. I jumped in the car and shot round to the tree where they were known to be.
Here are the results. I had to crank the ISO up on the &D to get a decent shutter speed but still very happy with the results.

We had a flock of about 80 in our garden a month ago, they aren't that rare up here compared to down your direction. I see them every second or third winter.
