So, long story short is I am getting married in 5 days. In order to appease my mom in the only way for the wedding, I shaved. I set up lights in the living room and This is the saga of the stache. (I know that it isn't too epic at this point- I had a nice beard and all going, but trimmed it up last week.)

You can see it here: http://Turfimage.zenfolio.com/stache (external link)

Cute and very creative. As a wife whose husband has the same kind of stache you had I would be highly irritated if my MIL to be had him shave it. ;) (But that's just me) He shaved it a few months ago and our 6yo daughter laughed at him relentlessly until he grew it back. Totally off topic...but I feel like I'm kissing a 'man-boy' when he shaves it and it skeeves me out so that's why I want him to keep it on. haaaahhhaa LOL basically he looks younger than me and we can't have that!! :D

So what does the bride to be think about the clean shaven look?

she likes my goat-tee assuming that i keep it clean and nice. She was upstairs studying last night while I was downstairs doing this, and every time I would do a different stache she would look at me, laugh, then feel my face. When I shaved it all off, i leaned in and kissed her, and she goes, "well, its better to kiss". So On that aspect she likes it, but I think aesthetically, she likes the goat-tee more. In fact, she is glad I shaved now instead of on friday, because if i was going to shave, then this gives her a few days to get used to it. Most likely, I will grow everything back out after the wedding.

Funny...I have a full beard right now because we are having a contest at work. We have a start and finish date and everyone grows the facial hair of their choice then we have a photo shoot and the whole staff (I work in a hospital ED) gets to vote on three categories.

Point being, it really turns to who can fight off their wives longer...many a weaker man has folded with the promise of a reward only a wife can give :-)

I've actually had a beard for a couple of years, my wife didn't like it at first but last year I shaved it off on Christmas day and both my wife and I hated how I looked without it! Now it is a permanent fixture! :D

Its not quite that. I look the same, maybe slightly different, but either way. figured it could be the last thing I could do for my mom prior to me getting married..

I like that idea. I might need to think of something like that... Then again, there is always no shave november.

If your cake topper has a groom figure on it, don't forget to take a sharpie marker and draw your stache on it. Then take a photo.
