It's so poor here, and there's a big gap between the haves and the have-nots. Same thing on the Fiji mainland, but in the hotel and on the resort island it was fine, I wandered around with the 20D no problem. I didn't see anything worth taking photos of in Sydney, I didn't do the tourist stuff, just met up with family and friends.
