After reading and reading I finally registered! This is a great forum and really appreciate everyone's input...it helped me very much so far.

I bought a Digital Rebel XT about a month ago and love it. I have only been taking digital pictures for about 2 years now with a Sony DSC-P72. Pretty basic camera, which now looks like horible quality compared to my new SLR!

I've been doing a lot in Program mode, learning the settings and everything else. Started messing around with RAW - but my computer is a bit overwhelmed and I don't care for the large file sizes. I'm sure I'll get into it more only on special occasions.

Well, I'm sure I'll have some questions and input from here on out...>Thanks!

~Mark

Welcome.

I have found the folks on this forum to generally be the most knowledgable and well-mannered of all. Been here awhile, but do a lot more reading than posting.

Enjoy that new XT. After the first bit, it won't seem so complicated.

Hi, thought I'd chime in. I've been lurking around reading the forum for awhile and finally joined up. I've learned quite a bit and look forward to more of the same.

Welcome to the Forums Mark.

Great bunch of people here to share with, the 350D/XT is quite a good little camera you should enjoy and grow quite well with.

The XT is a GREAT camera and it just gets more exceptional with a better lens. Like yourself I am a newbie owner and am very pleased with my purchase.

Hanging out with these great folks, you will quickly realize (and be able to justify) that you will want some new glass for your camera.
