I am about to pull the trigger on this, but I am a little disapointed that there are no grids availale for it. Any other suggestions of something else in the same price range ($270) that I can maybe mount with a speedring or do you not use speedrings with beauty dishes?

How about the Interfit 27" beauty dish. It comes with an Elinchrom mount and a grid is available. Oh, and the price is not that bad either. ;)

Thanks Sean... I guess I am looking for the most amount of versitility... I like that the Elinchrom Dish has the Silver & Gold deflectors, now if I can just find out if the Interfit Grid will fit the Elinchrom dish I think I will be happy!

Actually, I just got an email from B&H that the Elinchrom beauty dish is back in stock. So now the question becomes... Does anyone know if the Interfit 27" grid fits the Elinchrom 27" beauty dish?

Thanks roman_t & Semmonka. That is what I was figuring on. I'm pretty sure a grid made for a 27" dish could be made to work.

I also found a no-name grid that works well on my 27" eli dish. otherwise if you run out of luck Nick from Honey Grids who posts here can make you one.

alienbee has a 22" silver or white dish for only $80. and it has a grid available.

are those interfit suppose to be higher quality besides the 5" difference in size?

IIRC a lot of people are converting a speedotron dish for Eli. I may be confusing things though.

The OP Specifically wants a 27" for Elinchrom.

You can get a grid for the 27"/70cm Elinchrom Beauty Dish here...

Look at the photo from the 17"/44cm Dish to see how it's mounted/constructed.

Thanks Rai33. Do you know where you got yours, and how many degrees it is?

Thanks Sheldon, that looks like a sweet grid - a little pricey but just what I want. BTW, The LC-E6 charger is working great, saved me a lot of time on a recent shoot being able to charge 2 batteries at one time with 2 chargers!
