Good evening Ladies and Germs. Did everyone have a great weekend?

I have so far. I did a little shopping to use up my Christmas money/gift cards. I bought a printer -- first one I've had in many, many, many years -- I don't have much use for a printer, but the ones today can scan and copy, and those functions I can use!

Then, as I was driving home it started to snow. Yay! I was hoping that weather forecast would come true. It's nowhere near the "blizzard" conditions we had a couple years ago, but there's a good coating of the white stuff on the ground right now, and the flakes are still falling...

To late. No more Oprah. I think... didn't her show end or is that later?

:o:o:o:o:o:o:p

That is what I get for trying to catch up at work. Hopefully will be off soon, and I think it will be a hot bath to warm up (it started raining about 5) and some nyquil, then finding my pillow.

Night All.

Lonnie you'll like this. We ran up to Redrock late this afternoon after the snow started coming down. I love snow in the desert, it's like yin and yang, like chocolate and peanut butter, like ebony and ivory well you get the idea.

They're nothing special just something to share.

My resolutions for 2011: Reach 39,000 posts, build a model railroad, take some pictures, lose some more weight, and ummmm, let me see......

Oh!!! Quit smoking****

(Acutally, I haven't smoke for about 30 years, but I thought I'd throw one in that I actually have a chance of achieving.)

Ta ta, all. Check you later.

Oh, like that one!! Me too, me too! Nevermind that I tried to smoke once and felt like I was going to die right there on the spot...

Whenever I hear or read "model railroad", I think of something like this:

QUOTED IMAGE

What silliness?

Hubby decided you absolutely rock his world. He giggled for a long time!

When I was in the Navy, one of the things they would do to new kids just out of boot camp was the 'duty swimmer' gag. They would usually do this with the full collaboration of the division petty officer, so it was hard to recognize it as a hoax. They would tell the poor kid that he was the 'duty swimmer,' and in the event the ship had to leave port suddenly, he might have to go into the water with a flashlight to lead the ship past obstacles which would presumably be unlit in wartime conditions. They would go to elaborate lengths to explain all the duties/responsibilities, and even go so far as to dress the poor kid up in a swim suit, cover him with grease, and strap a knife to his leg. The joke usually ended with a greasy, half-naked sailor reporting to the quarterdeck, and a bunch of his shipmates following close behind to see the reaction when the OD dressed him down for being stupid.

Please don't ask how I happen to know about this.

Chief
(former duty swimmer)

We both might have giggled at this a little bit, too.

How do you like the Cruz Tablet? Does it have access to the Google Android market? I am anxiously waiting for CES to come and go so I can see the tornado of Android tablet products that are supposed to be released this year. I am hoping that the Motorola Xoom (external link) (LONNIE!! I don't remember if I emailed you this link) will include a version for just Wifi and NOT need a contract with Verizon. The specs of the Xoom on that page look to be the most promising, but I have not yet seen anywhere a mention of Wifi being included or not.

Wow, all that is kinda interesting...

Okay, I take back everything bad I've ever said about Chris. He spent his entire day at my house helping me choose and download new software, then setting up work flows. THANK YOU CHRIS!!

Awww, TD do you smell like fish after all the hugs? ;)

I agree with those sentiments! Desert snow is the best kind...

Nice pics, too. I need to get back to Red Rock. I haven't been there since my birthday in 2006 when I hiked to the summit of Turtlehead Peak. That was too long ago!

Your right, I saw that. It's OWN for Oprah Winfrey Network. Somehow I don't think it will be on my favorites list.

Considering the fact that she could have gone the other way, we should be very grateful.

Cute .GIF, .tif.

Turtlehead is in the background of the first picture. You could barely see it from the parking lot.

Will have to send hubby there on the way home!! We are right over the bridge in Fort Lee, have a building on 152nd that he is fixing up.

When I was younger, my dad used to be the choir director at the Greek Orthodox Church on Wadsworth between 179 and 180 so I am familiar with the neighborhood.

Wow that's awesome, how is the building going?! Small world! I live right on 183 and wadsworth :). I know exactly what church your speaking about. It's very nice and in great condition :).

I've thought about moving to fort lee myself as my parents live right in this neiborhood so it's close to them and mayras parents live in the Bronx. Fort lee is one of those far enough from the city but close enough to it location.

Now that you point it out, I can see it!

It is a great place to live, lots of transplants from the heights and great transportation into the city for work, particularly downtown.
