I've never had cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory, either.

In fact, I've never had cheesecake, period. Anywhere.

My puppies are up for adoption at HWAC now, and it looks like one is adopted.

HAHAHA.. I keep having to edit, because it keeps changing. LOL

pfffft. They are all on now. I just didn't give them time to update. LOL.
I'm sure they'll all get adopted quickly though.

Our local CBS affiliate did a bit about an HWAC dog last night...

DYING here! :lol::lol:

Pup heard the mail guy and started barking/baying like she does, running the length of the house to alert me to the danger... I thanked her properlly and she subsided, after which she needed to get a drink of water (I am sure her throat was terrible parched). I don't know what she heard, but it caused her Beagle Senses to go on alert, and she bark/bayed...INTO the water!!! HAHAHAHAHA!! Which then bubbled over the dish and made her jump and bark again!!!

OMG I have TEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buddy barks at the UPS truck, whether they're making a delivery to us or not...

Ikea!

Swedish for out of stock.

Skrim17 wrote in post #11671810 (external link)
We've had decent experience with Ikea, have a wall unit for 15 years and some chairs for just as long. I love their kitchen gadgets but am not a fan of their cabinetry and counters. The kitchen in this place is fine for the moment, we probably will be getting some hardware from Ikea as they have reasonably priced slide out hardware and shelving that will be a nice addition to what is there.

I have not had good experience with their stuff. You definitely don't want to move it unless you take it apart. The weakest part is the joinery, which they do to facilitate shipping and make putting it together rather easy. They do have some good functional stuff at good prices, that is for sure.

or just spend it all on cheesecake :D

I concur.... :)

we bought some sausages from Mt. Angel that had that pepper in them. I can only say it was so hot, you couldn't taste the sausage. In fact, we cut just one sausage up and cooked it in a pan of 9x13 chopped potatoes and it made the potatoes so hot that we couldn't eat them. And we eat hot stuff. That's what I mean about being too hot to make the food enjoyable. It was awful.

I love hot stuff, but don't care for the stuff that completely overpowers the food you are eating.

At midnight when I turned 21 my brat boyfriend (now brat husband) insisted on ordering me my first drink. Without telling me what it was. If you want something that is spicy AND burns (but tastes freaking nasty  ) get a shot of:

Prairie Fire:
3/4 part Everclear
1/4 Part Tabasco

That way it will open up all your pores and the burn the crap out of them :-|

Good for Brian.
The Prairie Fires I have had used tequila instead of Everclear. I have never found Everclear in a store in Canada, but it is big at duty free shops at the border.

SID! (I made that big so maybe he won't skip it)

I just saw this video (filmed on the 16th of this month) of the Sandy river. Amazing footage. I think I saw Riley (though maybe not) at the end when it's dark. It's really worth watching.

All the lawyers will huddle tomorrow or so, we still need to apply and have a face to face with the Board of the co-op, once they approve us we can close. They meet the third Thursday of each month, so we can't close until after that.

They countered our offer about 10k higher, we said thanks but our offer is really good and we will keep on looking and they said OK then, we'll take it!!

Cool. I don't know of any board that would deny you and your family. Glad they took your offer.

they are interested in money, can we pay the monthly maintenance and are we gainfully employed in an industry that isn't going to lay off all of its people, things like that. And how good is our credit.

Cat I've been on and offline all day...is William OK? What about Jane??

*sigh*

This is so hard. Mary took Baylee for us while Wade and I were gone, and that's where the pups were born.
Mary is an excellent midwife for the dogs, and has helped birth several litters for us. She is good at what she does.

When we got home, and contacted her, she was concerned about the runts, and asked if when we took Baylee if she could keep William so that he wouldn't die.
I expressed my concern about him being away from his mama at only a few days old, but she insisted that he would most likely die without very concentrated attention and supplemental (actually total) bottle feeding.
I went against my gut instinct, and listened to the voice of experience, and ok'd it.

I didn't want William to be all alone, with no furry body to snuggle against, so I suggested that Mary also keep the smallest little girl too. She was doing ok, but was still struggling to eat against the bigger pups. (Eleven pups, eight nipples.. the little ones are going to struggle).

If I had brought her home with me, I would have still supplement bottle fed her, but she would have been with Baylee and her siblings.

Mary called this morning sobbing uncontrollably, and was very difficult to understand on the phone, but what I thought I heard was that William had died in the night, and Jane was dying. Not breathing, cold and lethargic.

:(

I stayed in touch with Mary, and when it looked as though Jane might be ok, she took her to the vet. It was at that time that she said something about feeding William, and I realized the misunderstanding.
William was doing fine, and he was actually thriving.

The vet kept Jane for the day, got her temps up, and gave her some oxygen. They reported around noon that she was doing better, and had eaten.
They were going to send her home around 4:00, at which time she was going to come back here and be with Baylee and the other pups.

She died at the vet's office about 3:00. :(

*sigh*

You have no idea the amount of guilt I have over this. I went against my gut in the first place, knowing that the pups should have stayed with their mama. They need more from their mama than just food, ya know? I KNOW this.

The vet said that they believe that Jane aspirated some formula, and her little body just couldn't bounce back. :(

Sucks. Sucks. Sucks.

I very VERY much want to bring William here, but now am struggling with the 'you killed one puppy, give me the other one' message that will send to Mary. :(

SUCKS sucks sucks.

Cat -the femine feline with the namby arms. Loquacious, but not to a fault.
