We raised Jinx and Zoe on our hardwood floors. We will just have to refinish them or sell as is when the time comes.

We have always had hardwood too. Dogs have very little effect on it compared to the humans that walk and spin and run and drop stuff on it.

It is cold and blowing here, but it seems Jasper could care less. He is bugging me to head out for some fun. Off we go. :p

Back, just a virus. we were worried about strep but that was clear and they tested his blood for pneumonia!! but he's fine. If things haven't gotten better by Tuesday we go back, but I'm sure he'll be fine.

Our new place has original 4'' wooden parquet flooring, we will refinish as it isn't in bad shape at all. Since it is original to the building they actually have replacement tile there in the maintenance department that we can buy, then will refinish ourselves as Billy has done it many times.

Glad it's not strep or pneumonia. Hope that he feels better soon.

Do you have any photos of your new place yet?

Except for fading the floors are holding up to Baxter, except for his drool, but that comes up when I Brona. We keep his nails trimmed which I should think helps on the wear and tear.

Take measurements, it will help you place the furniture, initially. You can draw rough sketches on graph paper or use EXCEL.

Window curtains and Roman Shades went up fine and look goodish. Colors were a compromise on my part, I'll get use to it.

We have a floor plan here: http://www.northbridgeparkcoop.net …task=view&id=23&Itemid=64 (external link) ours is the 'F' unit. There is a large closet in the foyer that doesn't show up on the drawing, perhaps it was added by the previous owner.

Right now we are thinking paint colors, Eli wants a blue room which is fine, we will go linen white for the guest room and halls, probably a tan with a chocolate wall accent on the living room and continue the tan into the dining area.

The bathrooms will be done first, ours will be a complete reno with new everything and a jetted tub, The other will just be new sink and toilet until we can afford to change the tiles. Deb has generously offered a tile saw that she and Andy no longer need.

It has these really cool screens on tracks in front of the windows, right now they are dark wood with dark fabric panels. I think we would paint the wood and lighten the panels as I really like them as a window treatment. We have to remove the floor hardware to refinish the floors, but it is all in great shape so we can just put it back up once we are done.

Which room will be Eli's? How soon after closing are you hoping to move in?

Sorry about the puffer side effects. Poor kid.

He will most likely have the larger of the two non-master bedrooms, but the decision will be his. The one that abuts the master bath is the larger room, our unit is actually flipped form the diagram on the website.

Malcolm the chihuahua was adopted yesterday.
They just returned him. On the phone, the guy would only say that there was an incident, and he'd talk to me when he got here.

I'm thinking 'oh crap, he bit a kid' or something horrid like that.

Nope.

Apparently, he was SO well behaved, and such a great little house dog, that they didn't feel the need to crate him or contain him in any way while they were at church this morning.

They also didn't see the need to cage their pet bird that free roams the house.

Yeah.

They got home from church to feathers everywhere, no bird, and a fat Malcolm.

I feel badly, the kids are heartbroken, but REALLY!? Who leaves a bird who can't fly out with a brand new adopted dog ALONE in a house for several hours??
