evening folks, had a wonderful evening out in NY with friends at a restaurant called Carmines, where the food is served 'family style' on platters. It was great fun, something we haven't done in ages. Super Nana watched the boy and he came home TIRED and fell into bed. yay!!

Carmines is great Crissa!!! We had a very good waiter our first time there who warned as we order that our food could easily serve 12 yet it was only mayra and I  huge portions! Very good for large groups.

We went to a lake in Bosworth today it is a big open expanse of water but did not phase the dogs at all.

Really like the sequence frame, Neil. Sookie looks like she pulls half the lake water back out with her. I suppose most of that is just on the outer fur and runs right off, though. She has a beautiful leap...landing...not so much.

A short Video HERE (external link) that demonstrates at least two things .....

1. Teresa needs more work in settling Harley and setting her off after she has thrown the dummy (and Harley is a little confused because she is used to bringing things back to me.

2. I am way to impatient, I thought Sookie had messed up here retrieve so I told Teresa to send Harley in just as Sookie had got hold of the dummy and started to bring it back.

It was very windy ...

No she has hair rather that fur so is soaked right through to the skin. Harley on the other hand does not even get her skin wet!

I'm surprised, I figured her undercoat would be dry to keep her warm. Figured it would be part of the breed trait since they were bred for water and Ireland isn't the warmest this time of year. Is her hair real silky feeling?

So take warning, when she shakes it is a real soaker.

It was fun, we were 12 all together and ordered 5 plates plus salad and it was just perfect. We went to the one on 92nd street, it while we had reservations it took over an hour to be seated!!

I watched the NCIS "from the beginning marathon" Love me some NCIS! :D

Me, too! It's my favorite show. Lately, I started going through season one of NCIS: Los Angeles, and I like that version of the show just as much. Maybe even a little more.

How fun for you!

We had the movie 'Red' from Netflix, so I put that on. I found it entertaining, but it put Lois to sleep after about a half hour. I enjoyed it even though it was completely improbable. Typical Bruce Willis stuff.

LOL! At least he does not pretend that his movies are probable. I think he has created his own genre, actually

T & I have got through the first 4 series of "The Wire" since Christmas a great series but it has really taken Baltimore off my "List of places I really must visit"

We now have a channel that shows all the HBO shows and we have seen the first 3 episodes of "Boardwalk Empire" which looks really promising .......

I guess you leftpondians will be pretty scarce on the ground this evening down to some sporting event .......

G'd super bowl day to you all. I still do not know who to root for.

Yo, back from 2AM at the diner. Good food and it was rocking lol. They have a juke box and those 1950's style juke boxes that are on the table. You pick your song and it plays all over the restaurant. The table boxes have a speaker and volume option as well. Some people got up and were dancing 50s style to the tunes. They were pretty good and had likely taken lessons at some point from the looks of them.

did you and Leyla join them? Why was there no video of this event?

It has been a really windy and unpleasant weekend weather wise, but needed to do some work with the dogs. The season ended on the 1st Feb so it will be all training and walk up rabbits and pigeons until next September / October.

We went to a lake in Bosworth today it is a big open expanse of water but did not phase the dogs at all.

There are a few more pictures from today HERE (external link)

I really enjoyed these. I can see that Harley barrels out of the water as fast as she leaps in. And that Sookie seems to come out of the water like our dogs. More like "I've got what you wanted and I'm bringing it back with style" Both dogs look happy & healthy. Sookie has a fabulous build. I know they are both from champions and you certainly can see it in their lines. *wants a sookie pup*

Hush, you. You are just as creative, only have different areas of focus.

thanks Jon. Every time I see something new .Tif has thought of, or heard/read/saw one of Dan's new ideas, I'm proud & happy they both shine in what they do. It's just always been that Andrew and I were the lesser lights in the household. We were born rather ordinary in the scope of things. Tis okay. It's people like us that can really appreciate people like them.

Ever think they may wonder the same thing about your stuff?

lol. no. Not once.

Nice wet dogs, Neil . . . but way to crush Zane's little heart. :{)#

lmao!

How old are your girls now? Harley really demonstrates that "I need to work. Just give me a job." (both physically and mentally full of drive and determination) that you want to see in a working dog. Once she gets a bit older and is more patient off her mark, she's going to be fabulous. Sookie, she's a doll. She's so young still. You can tell she wants to do her job so she's looking on track, but isn't very confident yet. I was so surprised she gave that up to Harley. Neither of our dogs would yield the retrieve to the other.

Yeah, it is fun when some of the characters from the original are in the LA one. I just watched one a couple days ago from season one where Abby was kidnapped and the LA crew had to find her.

Another thing I love about the LA one is Kensi's eyes. Or, particularly, her right eye. Any time the camera is zoomed in on her, I'm staring at her eye. It fascinates me that a person can have a birthmark on the white of the eye. Looks kinda freaky, but I love it!

I thought it looked odd the first couple episodes I watched. If the camera angle is just right, it looks like her right eye is all black -- little or no white at all. I couldn't figure out why until I read the actresses' bio on IMDB.

I haven't seen either of those shows. I'll have to check Netflix and see if they have them. I haven't subscribed to any of the premium cable channels in years, so I always miss out on these shows.

As for that sporting event, I think I'd rather just get some sleep. As long as the neighbors don't get too noisy, that is...

Dragon. I literally couldn't sleep last night (7 am before I dozed) so I read that Beverly Connor book. I really enjoyed it, first new author in ages that I've liked so much. Which of course makes me very happy to have found a new author and very frustrated that I have a new author that is difficult to find.:lol:
