I went to a new doctor last week, a rheumatologist, at the suggestion of my orthopedist. I don't like going to the doctor much, and my ortho, while an ace Dr. has the personality of a slug; making it all the less pleasurable. I wasn't holding out much hope for this new guy but let me tell you he is FABULOUS!!! He is older, probably in his mid-late 60's and is gentle and kind and engaging, spent plenty of time with me and explained everything. A couple of my blood tests came back with positives which means I need more, and he personally called me and discussed everything and MADE THE APPOINTMENT for me to come back in for more blood work this morning. Amazing!

YAY for fabulous docs!

No hope of catching up.....at least not now. I did see a train picture posted by Wooly Dan. Very nice.

Meeting with lawyer this morning. This is no way to spend the days before Christmas.

Bah. Humbug.

uggghhh. Sorry, Chief. Hope all goes well.

*douses glowing red nose that was needed to see through the fog that has blanketed the area*

I had to deal with fog today too. Out on Dry Creek where I'm at it's been windy but 45 degrees with sun most of the time. I drove into the Walla Walla Valley today and it was all fogged in, snow and about 20 degrees. Amazing how the weather can be so different within 7 miles.

Thanks for the moon compliments. They are a bit soft compared to shots I have seen. I think I missed focus or should have gone with a faster shutter. Anyhow thanks, it was a pretty neat thing to shoot.

Apparently, St George is in a state of emergency with all the flooding. It's pretty bad. We don't live in one of the flood zones, but my prayers are with those who have been evacuated. I can't imagine families going through that right before Christmas. :(
Just saw this shot on FB:

Flooding near St. George Utah. This is the Virgin river flowing nearly 14,000 CFS this afternoon, which is about the same volume as the Colorado river.

Glad you are all not too affected, I hope it subsides soon for the sake of those that are.

Fred and Ginger were great. IMO, second only to Fred Astaire and Elanor Powell... check out their tap routine (external link) set to the music of 'Begin the Beguine' in Broadway Meledy 1940.

Takes you back to your mid teens then, I suppose. ;)

Mmmm.... we had some leftover taco mixin's from last night, so we threw them atop of some tortilla chips and had some makeshift nachos.

A mirror of my supper, two nights ago it was taco's with all the fixin's, last night was was a bunch of broken shells (roasted) with whatever was left of the fixin's on top.

CAT my thoughts too are with the families that have to evacuate. Is H.A.R.T. on call for any dogs that may stray during the turmoil?

Part of it had to do with oldest brother being a teacher and wouldn't make it up here until this week.

Art Deco and Art Nouveau were big in the 1880's-1930's. That's kinda the era I have for the TR Noir. Except for the cell phones and iPads.

Nice crossing of the space time warps.

I'm exceedingly enjoying the holiday this year. I've done a bit too much and am forced to slow down. But I'm enjoying the anticipation of the family arriving. In fact, I feel like a kid on Christmas....oh...wait...

It is always my favorite time of the year. Most stress was getting ready for last weekend with Curt's family. Now it is smooth sailing, even figured out my White Elephant gift for my family's get together, Friday.

Just got off the phone from an HOUR long conversation with the person who adopted Niko.
What an awesome, fantastic, wonderful, PERFECT life this dog has.

They renamed him 'Soldier' in honor of the soldier who was deployed and had to give him up.

:D

It is nice, hope it continues with happy dusting.

My nieces are sleeping at Nana's tonight, their parents had a dinner in the city and won't be home till late, they have school tomorrow. My mom was all giddy about it, lol!

I think the loneliness is the hardest, Crissa. My mom is the same way when folks are coming over and you can see her sadness when we must leave.

Great tunes during the night. I don't have time to hear them all this morning, but have them book marked for later. THIS (external link) arrangement I fell in love with on the way home from work last night. New CD for me this year.:D

G'MAE all. 1/2 day today then off until next Tuesday.:D:D

Oh yeah.

Long night....

BIL finally made it out of London. He had to change his flight from JFK to DFW, but he made it without a problem. He then was scheduled to fly from DFW to Palm Springs, and that flight went without a hitch until it came time to land. PSP (Palm Springs) was socked in, and they diverted his flight to Ontario, about 100 miles west of here. We decided to drive to Ontario and pick him up instead of waiting for the airline to arrange transportation; they were trying to get buses, and I guess that's not an easy thing to arrange at 10:00pm.

We made the trip over and back in pouring rain, but it seemed a reasonable sacrifice in order to get the family back home. BIL was exhausted, and promptly fell asleep in the back seat. Life can be tough as a road warrior.

We have had lots of rain the last few days. It's a remarkable event when you get an amount equivalent to your normal annual rainfall in just a couple days. It doesn't compare to some of the big storms we got when we lived in the Bay Area, but it's stunning in a place that hardly ever sees rain in any measurable amount.

Sorry I don't have anything interesting or funny to say today. I've degenerated into a drudge, and you people will just have to learn to live with it.

So there.

:p
