I was planning on shooting this car tomorrow, but he ended up having something that he forgot about earlier. Since I really wanted to shoot it, we did it with about a half hour's notice. Unfortunately that meant I couldn't borrow the 70-200L from last time. I wanted to take the plates off, but it was below zero with wind chill and wanted to knock the shots out before I got frostbite. By the end of it I couldn't feel my hands and could barely tell I was pushing the shutter.

Anyways, here goes. CC highly encouraged. I believe the images are much sharper this time around.

Nice shots! I like #1. How did you do the transparent hood effect?

Thanks guys.

Set up a tripod. Take one shot with the hood up and one shot with it down. Combine the two in Photoshop, use a layermask to only display the engine compartment from the open image. Then set the opacity to however much you think looks good.

Ohh thanks! I've seen it a few times and I've wanted to do it! :D

Thank you. Anything you would want to see done differently? He seemed very pleased with these.

I think I had some other images that had a better feel to them, but they were taken with my manual focus 135mm and they were slightly out of focus, unfortunately. About half of the shots with that were in focus and half were not.

I wish the interior was clean. I just noticed a plastic bag in the back seat in the first image. I also wish I had done a side shot with all 4 doors open. Oh well. I couldn't take the cold any more.

Since it was asked, here's a couple more that I liked. If it's out of line, I'll take them down.

An excellent set, congratulations, I hadn't seen the engine effect before - thanks for sharing.

Notice the highlights in the side in #s 6-8? Do you see any nice ones in #s 10-11?

Oh I know. That's why I didn't post them up originally.

I lucked out in finding that spot. Just when the light is right, the sun goes down behind the mountains. Less direct light and the cars get evenly diffused light.
