Ok, so basically I would like a website to host a portfolio on. I'm getting more and more interested in shooting part time for additional income as well as just getting the opportunity to see cool cars more often.

I would prefer a flash based site, doesn't need too large of a hosting capability since it will just be websized images (maybe 30-40 images tops). I am going to want my own domain name without the host website in it, an email address at the domain, etc. I don't need anything on there for ordering prints, either. Basically, it just needs a gallery, about me section, contact info, and services offered page. Standard stuff.

So far, the only places I have really looked have been Smugmug and Wix.

Thanks for the help

You just posted the exact same thing I was going to ask. I'd like to know as well. :)

Just a tip for the email: once you get the domain use google apps to add an email for that domain.

Could you explain that a bit more? Not entirely sure what you mean.

Google Apps is distinct from gmail, though has all of the benefits of gmail and more and is free. It allows you to assign multiple email addresses (up to 50 I think) all of which have your domain in them. Check out what it offers here: http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/group/index.html (external link)

I think all good website hosts offer templates for pages, a page builder and a photo slide shows. There are many to pick from and the price is low for basic and business packages.

Find a website host,
Pick your domain name(s) (you probably get more than one domain);
Get FTP uploader to upload pages & images to your server and your all set.

Pages are easy to make, templates are ready made. Within a couple hours you can have a good looking website up and running. You get all the email addresses you want.

Myself, I do all my own coding, make my own templates but that can take months and it is never ending. I use IX webhosts (external link), they have good service and the price is right. I use linux based, its cheaper and serves my needs but you may want windows based if your using templates and slideshow, I think they might be more stable.
