I'm visiting norcal next week 12/20-12/26. I didn't plan on rain coming down pretty much the whole week. So much for outdoor photography. I was thinking to do it anyways.. Anyone want to meet up and shoot something rain related?

Canon 70D/70-200 f4/17-55 2.8/BG-E9/430EZ I like DSLR's. It makes a distinction between photo fans and normal people who don't give a damn how a picture could look like

What part of norcal are you going to be in? Norcal is fairly large...

There is also a bay area thread if you are heading there. I'm sure you can get some people to meet up with.

Because the 70-200 II is a greater zoom hahaha

wow! have you used the Version 1 before? if so how would you compare both? besides the closer focusing distance.

I've used my buddy's Mk I for a couple events but I haven't had a chance to play with my II much. Like you said, rain all week! But I'm still going to take it out. I have a couple of those OpTech camera poncho thingies for extra peace of mind :p

I will say that it is sharp as hell on the 7D's LCD. The lens hood also has a locking mechanism which is fantastic, as my friend's hood was super easy to spin off. Also the color is much darker and more titanium oxide looking rather than white-ish. That was my biggest surprise.
