Adelaide boy born and bread and never knew our place in aviation history. A local does good.
Sir Ross Smith was born in Semaphore, South Australia.
He was the first person to fly from England to Australia.

And it looks as if it only took about a month to do it! :shock:

I shudder to think what some of these aviation pioneers undertook "back in the day."

Looks like quite the monument. Might be worth another try when the dynamic range isn't working so much against you.

You've misinterpreted Jay.
He wasn't talking about how long it took to build the monument, (although that was my first thought) but how how long it took to make the flight - Nov 12 - Dec 10.

By the way, where is that?

I'm pretty certain Jay was talking about the complete lack of detail in the blown out sky since the sun was setting
